An effective way to really make Día part of library programming throughout the year is to introduce multicultural literature and bilingual literacy into any and all programs and events at the library where it might apply.
Education Opportunities
Interested in learning more about Día and how you can get a celebration organized in your community? Keep checking here for information on upcoming education sessions.
In the months ahead, ALSC is hosting several Día Webinars.
Webinars
Are you culturally literate? Do you know how to plan and promote programs and services for diverse populations of children and their families? In this interactive session, participants will explore their understanding of various cultures and discuss how to create culturally sensitive library programming that promotes cultural literacy and connects many children from many cultures.
Learn how to expand on your El día de los niños/El día de los libros (Día) programming by taking Día beyond the library walls. Participants will discuss large scale Día events, strategies for community collaboration, grant opportunities, and ideas for creating a Día “season” or year-round Día-related events.
