Building STEAM with Día mini-grants awarded

The Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) has awarded Building STEAM with Día mini-grants to 18 libraries. Mini-grants funds will be used by awarded libraries to develop programs that will focus on bringing culturally diverse and appropriate STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) activities to awarded communities. One staff member from each awarded library will also participate in the Day of Diversity: Dialogue and Action preconference event at the ALA Midwinter Meeting in January, 2015.

Awarded libraries are: Hilton Branch of Maplewood Memorial Library (NJ); Gail Borden Public Library (IL); Henderson County; Public Library (NC); Troy Public Library (NY); El Paso Public Library (TX); Orange Public Library (CA); Tuscarawas County Public Library (OH); Lagrange Association Library (NY); East Lansing Public Library (MI); Lafourche Parish Library (LA); Burlington County Library System (NJ); Oakdale Library (CA); Zion; Benton Public Library (IL); Octavia Fellin Public Library (NM); Martinsburg-Berkely County Public Library (WV); Allen County Public Library (IN); Omaha Public Library, South Omaha Library (NB); and Mount Prospect Public Library (IL).
